Events

At HAFS, we hold regular events for our members, aimed to give the parents some respite and the children some fun. This includes Monday night football, regular trips to Jelly Beans play centre and events at our HAFS family centre. We also host open events for anyone to come along, this may include fundraising or simply to let other families know about what we do at HAFS.

Jelly Beans (Juniors)

Families relaxing on the sofas at Jelly Beans

On the first Thursday of each month we book the children’s play centre Jelly Beans for our family members to use. During the 2 hour period, the children have the whole place to themselves to play and enjoy. This then gives the parents some respite and a chance to socialise with other parents, talk about how Autism affects them and gain help and support from each other. We also provide complimentary therapists for the parents and other activities to help them relieve some stress. This is one of our regular activities that all of our families look forward to attending.

“Our son has been supported in all areas of his ongoing developments, from education to physical and mental wellbeing.”

Seniors Event (13 and over)

Teenagers, young adults and their families meet at HAFS Family Centre

The seniors (13-18 and older) event is held on the last Thursday every month. This event usually gathers between 40-50 people where they can find time to relax and socialise with other families. We provide board games, table football, table tennis and computer games for all to use.

Monday Night Football

Every Monday night there are matches for the children and volunteers to get involved with.

We provide a 5-a-side football match, every Monday, for the children to enjoy. We encourage each child and provide them with support so they fully enjoy the experience. We also award a player with a Man of the Match each week.
